MC12, now named Vixen - is well advanced in construction. This RT14 has been ordered by Carmet Tugs Ltd and is to operate in and around the Port of Liverpool and the Manchester Ship Canal. The vessel is to be fitted with spud guides,  2-tonne deck winch and a 2 tonne capstan. Delivery is scheduled for the beginning of 2012 and this will be the third 14 metre Meercat this year to travel north on the M6!

The RT14 'Eileen' has been successfully delivered to the Deeside Port of Mostyn. She will be employed on dispersal dredging works as well as the more usual port maintenance works. Some innovative design features are incorporated within the vessel including large pump trunkings, constructed within the push-knees, facilitating the dredge pump intakes. She also has an 11 tonne metre remotely controlled crane, a 7-tonne deck winch and reinforced deck areas to deploy the dredging equipment.

At the end of September we waved goodbye to Te Bhan – MC10 - which was transported to Ullapool, launched and then steamed to its new home on the West coast of the Hebrides. Two days later it was operating in 60mph winds on the Scottish Salmon’s farm site. A baptism of fire – or water! Despite its 4.85 metre beam the road transport element went extremely smoothly. This vessel represented the first Meercat to be built for the fish farm industry – and hopefully it will not be the last.
